Here is the poster we made of Jesus entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Our talented artist R.R. drew the centre picture.
What are the green hand prints meant to be?
Why did Jesus enter Jerusalem on a little donkey?
Two boys in our class had very good answers.
FH said: "Because he wanted to be like his people."
Not everyone could afford a big horse but most people had donkeys for work. Jesus wanted his people to know that he was just like them and that he was not better than them.
DOD said: " 'Cos donkeys are very good at walking and donkeys are an animal of peace and a horse is an animal of war."
He is right! A king would usually return home from war on a horse but Jesus wanted everyone to know that he brought peace and love. Most people except the priests and soldiers were extremely glad to see him and welcomed him by putting palm leaves in front of him.

Captain's Log Part 1
Captain’s
log part 2:
The
meteor shower is over and we have all survived, thank god.
Now we just have to leave the spaceship and float down to the moon.
There is no gravity in space so we will have to be careful we don't float away!
Captain's Log Part 3:
Captain’s Log part
4:
The
General of the Army is coming to see us. He thinks that we should blow all the
aliens right up with atomic bombs! I think this is crazy – if we blow them all
up we will never get to see if they are truly friendly or not. The General is
just scared.
Crew, I want you to convince the general that
there is no need for this foolishness! He must be stopped!

What kind of word is an adjective? What do you use an adjective for?
Let's try something:
1.How many words can you think of to describe something that is big/small/nice/bad/cold/hot?
2. Which of the following words could you use to describe a person?
cool wooden chocolatey ancient evil
round golden waxy rough
hilarious dramatic green beautiful
intelligent rusty chewy kind
3. Which of the following words could you use to describe a tree?
kind easy evil sharp
rough brown green leafy
enormous tall shiny soaring
silly gigantic caring
4. Which of these words could you use to describe a building?
kind thankful wonderful huge
amazing rough soft
rectangular green blue golden
shiny straight cold delicious
Now with your partner, see if you can come up with a sentence using the following words: the first one is done for you.
a) gigantic, silly, old
A gigantic giant went to visit his silly old grandfather.
b) quick, young, amazing
c) daft, tiny, green.
Well done!
Now it's time for a science experiment.
Can you tell Mr. Daly about what science experiments you have done so far?
Now we are going to do a science experiment using a very odd material:
What are your favourite kind of crisps? Let's take a vote.
What are crisps made of?
Did you know that not all crisps are made of potatoes? Some crisps are fake and are made from crushed corn mixed with chemicals!
The way to tell the difference between real crisps and fake crisps is by looking at the crisp's:
- Colour - Fake crisps are yellow all over and are often a cheesy orange colour. Real crisps are usually a mix of light yellow and different colours and sometimes have little burn marks from the oven.
- Texture - If every it is smooth and round it is fake! if it melts in your mouth when you suck it, it's fake! On the other hand if it's rough and breaks into pieces when you suck it it's real.
- Shape - If all the crisps are the same shape it is fake. Real potato crisps are made from real potatoes sliced up.
We are going to test which crisps are real. The best thing about this is that you have to taste the crisps to check!
Here is how we do it:
1. Every group will get a bag of crisps. Each person in a group take ONE crisp.
2. Before tasting the crisp you look at its colour and shape and put a tick in the right box on the science sheets Mr. Daly made.
3. Then put the crisp in your mouth to test the texture (see if it melts or breaks) and put a tick in the right box.
Are we ready?

Hellooooooooo Second Class!
Do you recognise these?
That's right - two of you did them the last day Mr. Daly was here. Unfortunately he forgot to tell them to take down their names!
Make your own new timeline: Here's how we start off.
What year were you born? Put this on the LEFT of the page.
What year is it now? Put this on the RIGHT of the page.
Then think of three of the most important memories you have and draw them in the middle in the correct order. What do you think the correct order is?
If you have any trouble Mr. Daly is going to leave the above success criteria for you to check and see if you're doing it right!
Below is a sample timeline to look at first.
Now let's rock!
